A Study on the Aseptic Practices in Clinical Nursing Performance


Abstract
This study examined the degree of aseptic practices in nursing activities (5 areas) to control nosocomial infection and performed to investigate variables have a effect on asepsis.
Data was gathered from Jan. 7th to 15th, 1988 through questionaires from 169 nurses at 4 major general hospitals in Kwang Ju City.
The results could be summarized as follows:
1. The degree of aseptic practices of each area.
1) About using Dressing cart and transfer forcep: 79.0% 2) About assistant Dressing: 68.9%
3) About Foley Catheterization: 66.7%
4) About Endotracheal Suction: 59.5%
5) About Intravenous Injection: 56.9%
This result showed the lowest aseptic practices about Intravenous Injection.
2. The variables related to aseptic practices.
1) About using Dressing cart and Transfer forcep:Positions
2) . About assistant Dressing: The degree of job satisfaction
3.) About Foley Catheterization: The degree of job¢¥satisfaction
4) About Intravenous Injection: Age.
